Ian Karlin
Biography
Dr. Karlin is a principal HPC strategist with the Livermore Computing Advanced Technology Office (ATO) at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL). He received a Ph.D. degree in computer science from the University of Colorado, Boulder, CO, USA, in 2011. He leads LLNL procurement benchmarking efforts, is the ATO lead for machine learning hardware, assists with preparedness activities for future large-scale machines, and provides user support. His research interests include system design, performance optimization, and workload characterization.
