Baskar Ganapathysubramanian is Anderlik Professor of Engineering at Iowa State University. He directs a large research group with a focus on scientific computing, applied mathematics and machine learning with applications in food, energy, water and health systems. With a focus on democratizing advanced computing techniques for application domain practitioners, several techniques and software developed in his group are used in the building science and biomedical communities and industries. He has been recognized with several federal awards including the NSF CAREER award. He received a PhD from Cornell University for work on data-driven approaches for solving stochastic partial differential equations.
