Michael is a 4th year undergraduate student pursuing a B.S. in Computer Science at Northwestern University. He has focused on the areas of compilers, operating systems, and kernel development during his undergraduate studies. He is involved in several clubs and student organizations at NU, namely the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers and Eye to Eye at Northwestern. Michael has also worked as an undergraduate teaching fellow, peer mentor, and research assistant while at Northwestern. His research interests lie at the boundary between hardware and software, and he has made several contributions to the Nautilus Aerokernel since starting his undergraduate-research career with Northwestern’s Prescience Lab. Michael Interned at Facebook this summer where he developed memory optimizations for one of Facebook’s largest cache services. He plans to work in industry before returning to academia to pursue a Ph.D. in computer science. More information at
