Simon Garcia de Gonzalo is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher, STARS 2020 Fellow, and member of the Accelerators and Communications for HPC team at Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC). His research interests include parallel heterogeneous computing, performance portability, runtime systems, and programming models for high-performance computing. Simon was awarded the STARS Fellowship part of the Marie Sklodowska Curie Actions within the Horizon 2020 Programme aimed at highly skilled post-doc in all fields of High-Performance Computing and related applications. His work has been published in SC, MICRO, CGO, CLUSTER, and received the best paper award at HPCC'19. His work published at SC'19 was selected as the reproducibility benchmark for SC20. He recently received his Ph.D. from UIUC and has previously worked as an intern at Intel, BSC, and Sandia National Laboratories.
