Koji Terasaki is a research scientist at Data Assimilation Research Team of RIKEN. His areas of expertise in data assimilation are the satellite radiance assimilation and observation error correlation. He applied the local ensemble transform Kalman filter to the Nonhydrostatic icosahedral atmospheric model (NICAM-LETKF). He has been a leading developer of the NICAM-LETKF system and developing it to assimilate various kinds of observations.
