Scott Valcourt is the associate teaching professor of computer science at the Roux Institute, Northeastern University’s newest satellite campus in Portland, ME. Focused on the development of science and technology to expand Maine’s growing entrepreneurial network, Valcourt studies cyberinfrastructure at small and mid-sized institutions. Named “one of the most powerful people in networking” by NetworkWorld Magazine in 2001, Valcourt develops new tools, technologies, and services that transform the northern New England region through partnerships. Valcourt is a co-director of the University of New Hampshire Telehealth Practice Center, focused on the blending of broadband, technology, and healthcare to connect providers and citizens in using new technologies. Valcourt has been the principal investigator (PI) of over $100 million in grant funding across the region. He holds a PhD in Engineering: Systems Design with a Cognate in College Teaching from the University of New Hampshire.
