Quentin F. Stout
Biography
Quentin F. Stout is a Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Michigan. He has been on advisory committees for several federal agencies, and his research and consulting have been funded by numerous governmental agencies and private industry. He and his students have worked on large multidisciplinary projects, such as crash simulation and development of the Space Weather Modeling Framework, and numerous smaller ones involving deep learning, ethical clinical trials, ground water remediation, sensor networks, etc. He is also an SC Perennial.

At Michigan he teaches the graduate parallel computing course. This course has attracted students from over 20 different departments and 5 colleges. Through their flexible term project, the students have been able to apply parallel computing to their discipline, and many incorporate it in their thesis.
