Juan (Jenny) Chen is an associate professor in the College of Computer at the National University of Defense Technology (NUDT), China. She received her Ph.D. in Computer Science from the National University of Defense Technology, China in 2007. She was a visiting professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of California, Riverside from December 2016 to December 2017. Her academic research work focuses on high-performance computing power and energy efficiency, high-performance computing interconnection network power management, parallel numerical algorithms and software development, and large-scale scientific computing application development. Jenny is responsible for teaching reform of the high-performance computing series of courses at NUDT. Relying on NUDT's scientific research advantages in the field of high-performance computing, Jenny’s team successfully explored a new model of high-performance computing innovation talent training by integrating HPC academic research with teaching, and the results were awarded the First Prize of 2019 Hunan Province Teaching Achievement. Jenny has published papers with others in highly competitive conferences and journals such as SIGCSE, Cluster, TOC, PARCO, RSC, and FIE. Recognition for her research includes the best paper award at Cluster 2010 and TURC 2018. Jenny serves as local co-chair for the 2019 ACM Global Computing Education Conference (CompEd), program co-chair for the 2018-2020 ACM TURC (SIGCSE China) Symposium, and on program committees in some conferences including IPDPS, ACM TURC, HPCC, and ICESS. Jenny is a member of ACM, IEEE, ACM SIGCSE, and ACM SIGHPC organizations. She is currently the secretary general of the SIGCSE China Chapter, a task force member of the CC2020 project, a senior member of the China Computer Federation (CCF), a member of the High-Performance Computing Committee of the CCF, and a member of the Theoretical Computer Science Technical Committee of the CCF.
