Melisa Alkan
Biography
Melisa grew up in the cities of Istanbul and Moscow and attended Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago to earn her B.S. in Chemistry. She is now a 3rd-year graduate student co-advised with Dr Mark Gordon and Dr Levi Stanley groups at Iowa State University. Melisa is one of the developers of GAMESS software package as well as the high-performance LibCChem library. Her research interests include development of performant and portable quantum chemistry codes by exploring new algorithms on novel computer architectures. She is also interested in studying transition metal-catalyzed reactions as well as bridging theoretical and experimental communities.
