Selina Urias earned an Assoicates degree from San Antonio College (S.A.C.) in Information Assurance and Cybersecurity, where she was awarded Distinguished Graduate for the degree program, along with Honors Distinction and Cyber First Responder awards. As a mother of two, she remained on the Dean’s or President’s List while she attended classes and worked full-time. Her skills certificates include Computer Forensics Level 1, Linux Professional Institute (LPIC-1), and ComTIA Sec+ certifications. The Cisco Networking Academy is where she developed a passion for the architecture and operations of network environments and plans to be CCNA certified by 2021.
Selina is currently a senior at Texas A&M University - San Antonio pursuing a BAAS in Information Assurance and Cybersecurity, expected graduation is May 2021. She is the Women in Cybersecurity (WiCyS) student chapter President and the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) student chapter Community Service Director at TAMU-SA. The importance of encouraging STEM within her community is shown by volunteering her time and passion at FIRST competitions and the information technology student chapters.
