Biography
Samuel (Sam) S. Cho is an associate professor in the Departments of Computer Science and Physics at Wake Forest University. He received B.S. degrees in Biochemistry and Computer Science from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from University of California, San Diego, and was awarded the NIH NRSA Postdoctoral Fellowship for research at University of Maryland, College Park. His interdisciplinary computational biophysics research areas are focused on biomolecular folding and assembly mechanisms, high performance computing, and GPU-optimized parallel algorithms. He is currently the Graduate Director of the Graduate Program in Wake Forest University where he is also a Co-Director of the Data Science Certificate Program. Dr. Cho is currently a member of the Committee for Inclusion and Diversity in the Biophysical Society and the Committee for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Wake Forest University Computer Science Dept.
