Dr. Candy received his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of California, San Diego, and is manager of the Turbulence and Transport Group at General Atomics in San Diego. His research spans various topics in theoretical and computational plasma physics and acoustics, with focus on kinetic theory and turbulence. Dr. Candy is a member of the Audio Engineering Society and a fellow of the American Physical Society (APS). In 2003, he received the Rosenbluth Award for fusion theory, and was 2008 Jubileum Professor at Chalmers University. He is currently PI of the AToM SCiDAC-4 project.
