As an Associate Professor of the Practice of Computer Science Margaret coordinates curriculum and instruction for the key courses Problem Solving in Computer Science and Introduction to Data Structures and Software Design. She was recently recognized by the Dean of the College of Engineering at Virginia Tech for Excellence in Teaching. Her work lies at the intersection of computer science research, computer science education, and challenges of diversity and inclusion in the field. Margaret serves as Co-PI on the Computer Systems Genome project and works closely with a large inclusive team of student researchers.
