Kiran Eiden
Biography
Kiran Eiden is a first year graduate student and DOE CSGF fellow at UC Berkeley. He completed his undergraduate studies at Stony Brook University, where he worked with the nuclear astrophysics group on simulating phenomena relating to stars and stellar remnants. Most of his research to date has focused on Type I X-ray bursts, which are thermonuclear explosions on the surfaces of neutron stars. He looks to continue studying high-energy phenomena in graduate school, with an emphasis on using radiation transport simulations to predict electromagnetic emissions and allow for comparison to observational data.
