
Biography
Robert Sinkovits is the Director of Training and Director of Scientific Computing Applications at the San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC). He is also co-PI of the Extreme Science and Engineering Discovery Environment (XSEDE), an NSF-funded virtual organization that integrates and coordinates the sharing of advanced digital services. In his 22 years at SDSC, Robert has worked in a wide range of domains including cryo-electron microscopy, immunology, economics, chemistry and ecology, with an emphasis on developing fast and efficient parallel applications. Robert earned a PhD in Physics and completed a post-doc at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, DC before joining SDSC. In his spare time, he is an avid reader, cyclist and mountain climber.
