Felipe H. da Jornada
Felipe Jornada is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Stanford, having received his Ph.D. from UC Berkeley in physics in 2017. His group uses a combination of new theoretical quantum-mechanical formalisms and massively parallel computer calculations to predict the electronic and optical properties of novel materials without empirical fitting parameters (i.e., from first principles). His ultimate goal is to use insights from atomistic calculations to rationally design new materials with applications in energy research, electronics, optoelectronics, and quantum technologies.
