John McCalpin

Biography
John McCalpin is a research scientist at the Texas Advanced Computing
Center of the University of Texas at Austin, where he runs the Advanced
Computing Evaluation Laboratory -- evaluating performance and system
architecture for current and future high performance computing systems.
Before joining the university, McCalpin worked in performance analysis
in the processor and system design teams at SGI, IBM, and AMD. He
received his B.S. in Physics and M.S. in Physical Oceanography from
Texas A&M University and his Ph.D. in Physical Oceanography from the
Florida State University. He has developed and maintained the STREAM
benchmark since 1991.
