Kiyoshi Kumahata

Biography
Kiyoshi is a Research & Development Scientist of flagship 2020 project at RIKEN Center for Computational Science (RCCS), Japan. This project carries out research and development of Japan's new flagship "Supercomputer Fugaku". He researches co-designing application and Fugaku hardware. Before joining flagship 2020 project, he engaged performance tuning for the supercomputer K at RCCS. His research interests are high performance computing and computational fluid dynamics. Therefore, he paid lots efforts for performance improvement of computational fluid dynamics code on supercomputer K and Fugaku in recent decade.
Before RCCS, he researched biomedical simulation. In 2010, he awarded the best graphics award in Journal of Biomedical Science and Engineering, Japan Society of Mechanical Engineering. Kiyoshi received Ph.D. in Information Science in 2006 from Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST), Master of Information Science in 2001 from JAIST, and Bachelor of Engineering in 1998 from Tokyo Polytechnic university.
