Chinmay Hegde is an assistant professor in the Dept. of Computer Science and Dept. of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Tandon School of Engineering, New York University. Previously, he was an assistant professor and Black and Veatch Faculty Fellow at Iowa State University. His research focuses on developing fast and robust algorithms for machine learning and statistical signal processing, with applications to imaging problems. Prior to this, he was a Shell-MIT Postdoctoral Fellow in CSAIL at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is the recipient of several awards, including best paper awards at SPARS and ICML, a best poster award at MMLS, the Budd Award for Best Engineering Thesis at Rice University in 2013, and the NSF CRII Award in 2016.
