DescriptionThis presentation will describe the activities of the Training and Productivity (T&P) component of the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Exascale Computing Project (ECP). T&P addresses the challenges facing the ECP teams by providing training on key exascale hardware and software technologies. Also, one of the primary goals of T&P is to help the ECP’s application development and software technology teams become better software developers, since researchers and scientists don’t necessarily have backgrounds in computer science or specialize in writing codes. While some of T&P's activities are specific to ECP members, others can be beneficial to the community at large. The presentation will summarize training opportunities and resources that the broad Computer Science and Engineering (CS&E) community can tap into, to help in the development of the HPC workforce and prepare the groundwork for the next generation of exascale developers.
