SUMMARY:Computational Cosmology Postdoctoral Fellow
DESCRIPTION:Job Posting\n\nComputational Cosmology Postdoctoral Fellow\n\n
 \n\nComputational Cosmology Postdoctoral Fellow - 91458\nOrganization: CR-
 Computational Research\n\nBerkeley Lab’s Computational Cosmology Center (C
 3) is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to work on topics related to cosmologi
cal simulations and inference of cosmological parameters using simulations
and observational data. Areas of interest are broad, including: developme
nt of hydrodynamical Nyx code and simulations, large-scale structure and r
eionization models, statistical and machine learning methods for future sk
y surveys, surrogate modeling of expensive cosmological simulations and ot
hers. The ideal candidate will be capable of generating their own research
ideas and have good programming skills.\n\nBerkeley Lab is a full member
of several cosmology surveys, including DESI, LSST, CMB-S4 as well as addi
tional CMB experiments. Postdoctoral researchers will have access to signi
ficant allocations on some of the world-leading supercomputers including C
ori (Berkeley/NERSC), Theta (Argonne/ALCF) and Summit (Oakridge/OLCF) and
will interact with researchers from UC Berkeley departments including Berk
eley Center for Cosmological Physics (BCCP) and Berkeley Institute for Dat
a Science (BIDS).\n\nWhat You Will Do:\n• Become an essential member of a
diverse team of cosmologists, applied mathematicians and computer scientis
ts, working together on cosmological simulations and parameter inference.\
n• Publish and present research results in journals and conference proceed
ings.\n\nWhat is Required:\n• PhD in Physics, Astronomy, Applied Mathemati
cs, Computer Science or a related field.\n• Strong interest in numerical s
imulations and/or statistical and machine learning techniques.\n• Excellen
t oral and written communication skills.\n• Ability to work productively b
oth independently and as part of a diverse team.\n• Experience with High-P
erformance Computing in scientific context is preferred.\n\nFor full consi
deration, please submit the following materials listed below with your app
lication:\n• Cover Letter\n• Curriculum Vitae\n• Statement describing rese

stdoctoral positions depends on years of experience post-degree.\n• This p
osition is represented by a union for collective bargaining purposes.\n• S
alary will be predetermined based on postdoctoral step rates.\n• This posi
tion may be subject to a background check. Any convictions will be evaluat
ed to determine if they directly relate to the responsibilities and requir
ements of the position. Having a conviction history will not automatically
disqualify an applicant from being considered for employment.\n• Work wil
