 and Scientific Computing\n\n\n\nPosition Description:	\nThe Laboratory for
  Applied Mathematics, Numerical Software, and Statistics (LANS) in the Mat
 hematics and Computer Science Division at Argonne is seeking a research st
 aff member in the area of partial differential equations (PDEs), numerical
  software, and scientific computing. The staff member will perform basic r
 esearch in mathematics and computer science and will build computational t
 ools and methods for the solution of computational science problems on dis
 tributed and/or scalable parallel computers.\n\n\nPosition Requirements:	
 \nRequired skills:\n\nA Master's or Doctorate degree in computer science, 
 mathematics, operations research, statistics, or a related discipline\nDoc
 umented and comprehensive expertise in numerical analysis, computational s
 cience, or high-performance computing\nExperience developing algorithms an
 d software libraries for the scalable solution of PDEs\nPotential to provi
 de project leadership and generate outside funding for research\nDesired 
 but not required:\n\nExperience using software libraries with science and 
 engineering application codes\nExperience with the Portable Extensible Too
 lkit for Scientific computation (PETSc) package\nExperience with the discr
 etization of PDEs and the solution of linear and nonlinear systems arising
  from PDEs\nThis position may be hired at either of the two levels, based
  on the following minimum qualifications:\n\nRD5: Bachelor’s and 15+ years
 , Master’s and 12+ years, or Doctorate and 10+ years, or equivalent\nRD6: 
 Bachelor’s and 20+ years, Master’s and 15+ years, or Doctorate and 15+ yea
