 nistrator\nThe Large Scale Systems group at Texas Advanced Computing Cente
 r invites a Systems Administrator who can provide Linux systems administra
 tion and hardware support for HPC systems.  The position will require inte
 raction in a multi-vendor, high performance computing environment that inc
 ludes petascale HPC and storage systems and high-speed networking infrastr
 ucture. Our environment operates many thousands of Dell, Cray (now HPE), S
 uperMicro, HPE, and IBM servers running various Linux distributions and se
 rving users at many USA institutes as well as international partners. \n\n
 Must be eligible to work in the US on a full-time basis for any employer w
 ithout sponsorship.\n\nResponsibilities\n•	 Maintain and administer Linux 
 based HPC clusters with multiple architectures.\n•	Monitor cluster managem
 ent software, and the job scheduler.\n•	Diagnose and repair large Linux cl
 uster hardware components.\n•	Work closely with other systems administrato
 rs to meet day to day operational needs.\n•	Collaborate with the team to m
 eet the center goals, priorities and initiatives.\n•	Create and maintain d
 ocumentation aligned with TACC's systems.\n•	Document and share solutions 
 for routine tasks and automate when applicable.\n•	Provide feedback for im
 provements in automation and process for the group.\n\nRequired Qualificat
 ions\n•	Bachelor's Degree.\n•	2+ years experience administering Linux syst
 ems (RedHat or CentOS preferred).\n•	Experience in Linux systems administr
 ation and repairing system hardware.\n•	Ability and desire to learn new co
 ncepts.\n•	Excellent verbal/written communication skills.\nRelevant educat
 ion and experience may be substituted as appropriate.\n\nPreferred Qualifi
 cations\n•	Familiarity with system software package management, patches, s
 oftware compilation, concepts such as RAID, hardware diagnostics, network 
 configuration, backups, and failure-recovery procedures\n•	Experience conf
 iguring and deploying Linux clusters of any size including configuration m
 anagement tools such as Puppet, Ansible, LoSF.\n•	Basic knowledge with one
  or more scripting languages, (Python, Perl, Bash).\n•	Hands on experience
  in physical deployment including cabling, power distribution and cooling.
 \n•	Practical knowledge of one or more of the following interconnects: Inf
 iniBand, iSCSI, Fiber-Channel, Omni-Path or GE.\n•	Experience working in a
 n academic research environment working in collaborative, interdisciplinar
 y projects with computational scientists and engineers.\n\nSalary Range\n$
