SUMMARY:In Situ Analysis and Visualization with SENSEI and Ascent
DESCRIPTION:Tutorial\n\nIn Situ Analysis and Visualization with SENSEI and
Ascent\n\nChilds, Harrison, Larsen, Loring, Rizzi...\n\nThe widening gap
between computational and I/O rates is a key challenge for many computatio
nal science efforts. In situ processing, where visualization and analysis
process data while it is being generated, is an important solution for th
is challenge.\n\nThe HPC visualization community provides several producti
on tools for in situ processing and is actively researching infrastructure
s and approaches to help with in situ use cases on HPC platforms. This tut
orial blends lectures and hands-on examples to introduce attendees to in s
itu processing concepts and provide practical experience using state-of-th
e-art and -practice in situ tools, including SENSEI, Ascent, ParaView Cata
lyst, VisIt Libsim, Cinema and ADIOS.\n\nAttendees will learn how to use t
he SENSEI and Ascent in situ interfaces to couple simulation codes to mult
iple endpoints. This tutorial is ideal for those who would like to learn h
ow to use in situ processing to analyze, visualize, or process data on HPC
platforms.\n\nTag: Big Data, Data Analytics, Compression, and Management,
Visualization, Workflows\n\nRegistration Category: Tutorial Reg Pass
