SUMMARY:SuperCompCloud – Introduction: 3rd International Workshop on Inter
operability of Supercomputing and Cloud Technologies
DESCRIPTION:Workshop\n\nSuperCompCloud – Introduction: 3rd International W
orkshop on Interoperability of Supercomputing and Cloud Technologies\n\nAl
am, Tessier, Hancock, Snapp-Childs\n\nExascale computing initiatives are e
xpected to enable breakthroughs for multiple scientific disciplines. Incre
asingly these systems utilize cloud technologies, enabling complex and dis
tributed workflows that improve not only scientific productivity, but acce
ssibility of resources to a wide range of communities. Such an integrated
and seamlessly orchestrated system for supercomputing and cloud technologi
es is indispensable for experimental facilities that have been experiencin
g an unprecedented rate of data growth. While a subset of high-performance
computing (HPC) services has been available from public cloud environment
s, petascale and beyond data and computing capabilities are largely provis
ioned within HPC data centers using traditional, bare-metal provisioning s
ervices to ensure performance, scaling and cost effectiveness. This worksh
op aims to bring together experts and practitioners from academia, nationa
l laboratories and industry to discuss technologies, use cases and best pr
actices in order to set a vision and direction for leveraging high-perform
ance, extreme-scale computing and on-demand cloud ecosystems.\n\nTag: Big
Data, Cloud and Distributed Computing, Extreme Scale Computing, Scientific
Computing, Workflows\n\nRegistration Category: Workshop Reg Pass
