SC20 Is Everywhere We Are

Virtual Event FAQ

Welcome to the International Conference for High Performance Computing, Networking, Storage, and Analysis. In addition to the information below, SC is putting together a video specifically geared towards newcomers. Stay tuned for its release at the end of October.

How SC Is Organized

The SC Conference features the Program, encompassing the Technical Program and the Students@SC Program; and the Exhibits, where the latest advancements in HPC technology are on display.

Technical Program

The Technical Program is the heart of the conference, where the world’s leading researchers share results and applications, and debate the future of high performance computing, networking, storage, and analysis.

Technical Program registration is required to attend most of these sessions. Tutorials and Workshops require separate registrations. The More Than HPC Plenary, Birds of a Feather sessions, Awards sessions, and Exhibitor Forum sessions are open to any registration category.

Students@SC Program

Through professional development programs, opportunities to learn from mentors, and engagement with the Technical Program, SC supports a strong and diverse HPC student community at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Most of the Students@SC Program is designed for students who have been selected for participation in advance of the conference.

Within the Technical Program, there are two opportunities for students to participate in SC Posters:

The virtual exhibit hall will be open for three full days (Tuesday–Thursday, November 17–19) with hundreds of exhibitors presenting the latest technologies and discoveries from around the world

In addition, visitors have an opportunity to attend presentations at:

Historically, during the week of SC, SCinet becomes the most powerful and advanced network on Earth, connecting the SC community to the world. Due to the virtual nature of SC20, we will not be building the cutting-edge SCinet infrastructure that our attendees have to come to expect as part of their SC experience. We hope to deliver the world’s fastest temporary network next year at SC21.

SCinet also hosts workshops, demos, and collaborative opportunities through:

The SC Conference Series has made an ongoing commitment to addressing inclusivity and diversity at the conference and within the HPC community. Making all attendees feel welcome is important to us. Learn more about Our Commitment to You and our Code of Conduct.

Registration for SC opens in the summer before the conference. You can reduce your registration fee if you are a member of one of SC’s sponsoring societies. If you’re not a member, it’s easy to become one. Check the registration page for full details.
